Register for 2026 SFA Online Events!

We have two Speak/e/s Family Association online events coming up in 2026. First, we will have a webinar to discuss the latest details about our Speaks Family DNA project in July. We’re also planning this year’s annual Business Meeting for September. Registration is now open for both events! Get more details below.

Finding the Missing Links: The Speaks Family DNA Project

Thursday, July 16, 2026, 6 p.m. Eastern Time (3 p.m. Pacific Time)

Get an update on the Speaks Family DNA Project and how it is shaping our understanding of our genealogy.

This Zoom session will include a presentation about 30-40 minutes long that will describe in plain English (with as little technical jargon as possible) the most current results of the Speaks Family DNA Project. As we receive the results from additional DNA tests from Speak/e/s men, our genetic genealogical family tree is coming into focus and aligning with our tree based on genealogical documented information. There will be ample time after the presentation for you to ask questions and to discuss the current information and what it means to the family genealogy.

You have requested this topic, and we are looking forward to sharing the latest findings relative to the Big-Y DNA project. The update will be presented by the Speak/e/s Family Association’s own John Payne, assisted by Vice President Henry Payne as moderator, both of whom are Co-Administrators of the Speaks Family Project at FamilyTreeDNA.

SFA 2026 Annual Business Meeting

Wednesday, September 16, 2026, 6 p.m. Eastern Time (3 p.m. Pacific Time)

We will conduct our 2026 Annual Business Meeting on Zoom. The agenda will be published in an upcoming Bulletin. One agenda item will be voting on updated SFA Bylaws. The updated draft for acceptance will be published at least 30 days before the meeting for your review and consideration.

There is no charge for registration for either meeting. You will be asked for your name, email, and a phone number (in case we need to reach you to resolve technical issues). Once you are registered, you will be sent the sign-on information in an email. We plan to send email reminders one week before the event and one day before the meeting.
